The Highest People in Britain

Published 27 November 2011

I couldn’t end A Sunday Picture’s celebration of classic views without a trip up Ben Nevis.

We climbed Ben Nevis in June 2009 on the day after finishing the West Highland Way. As we’d arrived in Fort William the day before, the whole top of the mountain was crystal clear and completely cloud free. Naturally the next day it was covered in cloud.

Still when you get to the highest peak in Britain, you have a photograph regardless of what the view is like!

And as November’s series of themed Sunday Pictures comes to an end, so to do my series of shameless plugs. But don’t forget that Great Views We Have Seen, the original coffee table book classic fell views is still available at £18.99! It makes a perfect Christmas present for all serious walkers. Honest.
