The Setting Sun

You get the best sunsets in spring and in autumn and as it’s now October I thought I’d show you some of my favourite sunset photographs.

This one is taken near the South Downs Way and was taken in March 2010.

I walked the SDW in two day blocks and as I walked to Lewes railway station having done day 6 I walked past Ashcombe Windmill in the village of Kingston-near-Lewis.

The original windmill was destroyed in 1916 however it had been decided to rebuild it decades later.

I almost didn’t get to see this view. The sun was setting behind me and it was only when a group of people some way ahead of me started turning round that I turned round myself. And I’m glad they were there to prompt me.

More on my South Downs Way adventures can be found in the Walks section, and South Downs Way photos can be viewed in the photos section. Cunningly.
