Sharing the View

Beldi Hill, near Keld

Walking must surely be one of the most social activities around. Doesn’t matter where you are, or who you’re with, if you pass someone else, you at very least say hello to them. Who knows why, but you do.

Sometimes you even get chatting, as Catherine and myself did to this couple on Beldi Hill near Keld. We had to. There was a great view to admire and they were already there. It would have been rude not to say something after all.

Within seconds we’d found out that he was in his 70s and had just done the Coast to Coast by himself, camping along the way. And now he was back with his wife, travelling in a campervan, to show her some of the highlights of his journey. This view was one of them. And looking at it, it was hard to argue.
