South Downs Way 2010

Completed in four trips of two days each in the Spring of 2010, these are my photos from the lovely South Downs Way.

If, for any reason, you can’t see the slideshow, pop over to flickr and view them there.

This is my very first visit here, so I haven’t figured my way around the site, but a quick suggestion would be that it’d be a real help if there was some way to put captions to the photos, to give an idea of where each place or view actually is.
As regards the South Downs Way, please can I ask if you happened to see the rusted (and turretless) remains of a Churchill tank, somewhere near a place called Kithurst Hill (which itself is near Storrington)? I’m looking to do the SDW, myself, before too long: with the tank being one of the bits I’d like to see, it’d be helpful to know if it’s easily visible or could take some searching.
Thanks

Hi Roger

There is a way to turn on captions – if you click on the slideshow you should see a link called “Show Info”. Unfortunately flickr don’t allow me to set it to turn on by default, not put the caption in a sensible place. Keep meaning to try writing my own code to handle it better, but I haven’t had time yet.

I have never heard of the tank until now. I presume it’s not visible from the main path as I would have spotted it. Well I hope I would have spotted it!

Hi Andrew
Thanks for the quick reply.
Apparently (from looking on Flickr for an example photo) the remains of the tank are just to the south of the SDW:-
