A meander along the Coast to Coast

Leaving Patterdale for Shap, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk passes by several of the Far Eastern Fells before finally bidding farewell to the Lakes. For my second day walking in Patterdale in July 2017, I followed the trail, visiting seven different fells along its route.

Walked on 22 July 2017.

Route: Patterdale → Angletarn Pikes → Rest Dodd → The Nab → The Knott → Rampsgill Head → High Raise → Kidsty Pike → Patterdale.

Angletarn Pikes

Published 20 September 2017

A fell where you can get a grand view of Angle Tarn. When there’s no cloud, anyway.

Rest Dodd

Published 27 September 2017

An easy to find fell, when following the main route of the Coast to Coast. But sneaks up on you if you’ve made a wrong turn.

The Nab

Published 4 October 2017

Winner of the “Most Awkward Wainwright in the Far Eastern Fells” award.

The Knott

Published 15 October 2017

A lovely fell thoroughly ignored by most of the people walking past it.

Rampsgill Head

Published 29 October 2017

Simple to visit, but stunning in terms of views.

High Raise (Martindale)

Published 5 November 2017

A perfect fell on which to worry that you’re doing Wainwright bagging all wrong.

Kidsty Pike

Published 12 November 2017

Re-visiting a fell, in rather better conditions than the first time.
