Gloves drying by a roaring fire

It’s the winter solstice today. The shortest day of the year. Those nights are finally going to get longer from here-on-in.

But summer is still a long way away. This is the time of year for a roaring fire at the end of your walk. A fire such as this one in the Buck Inn, in Malham, which is also handy for warming up your gloves. Or drying them, as was the case here.
